Already the last day of the tournament. The mix doubles, semi-finals and finals were on this day. The mix double tournament was a drop out system so if you lose on battle you cant continue. Luckily this time it didn’t start so early in the morning and the players could sleep a little bit longer.
Stefan made it trough the semi finals, he won from Morton. Simon also went trough. He had a hard game against Jordy but in three sets Simon was the strongest. The girls also had close games. Signe won from Stephanie in three sets, they were very exciting. And Rinske won from Tiffany in two sets but those were just as exciting as all the other games. That’s to say about the singles but the doubles and the mixes were just as close. It really was between Almere and Aalborg.
Then the finals begun and Aalborg was doing good but Almere was doing better. Simon tried his hardest to win against Stephan but it wasn’t enough and Stephan went away with the gold medal. At the girls it was Rinske who took the golden medal. At the end all the golden medals were won by the Almere players. Stephan even took all the golden medals, 1st at mixed tournament, 1st at men’s single, 1st at men’s double and 1st at mix double. Not bad.
In the evening the closing ceremony took place at FBK. This time the different sports went together instead of the different country’s. After every sports came by the dancers showed there dance skills on the podium. A real spectacle with very energetic dancing. After this there was a quiz wich was ok in the beginning but it took to long to be interesting at the end. After that long quiz there was a afterparty at FBK but we badminton player had our own closing party at the sports hall. Were everybody was more outside than inside cause of the warmth. Around twelve o’clock the party was supposed to end but it ended around two o’clock. While the English players had to be at FBK around 5:30. So not much sleep for them… or no sleep at all ;).
