This day begun so early. It was 5:30 that all the English people had to be at FBK. Some of the players didn’t sleep that night cause the party was so late the day before. But there was hardly any difference in the state of there faces from the one’s who did sleep and the one’s who didn’t. They all just looked very tired. That’s not so hard to imagine off course this whole week was coming to an end and everybody had given there last bit of energy in the finals of the games before the finals. And after that they also had a party that went on till in the very early hours. But luckily they could sleep in the bus and the plane. At 6 they left Almere for another four years.
The Swedish people left at 8 o’clock towards a very long trip in the bus. Although the Swedish players were with few they did good in the tournament. And Mathilda has shown that size doesn’t say everything. Good job!
Next up were the Danish people. At eight o’clock they could sleep some hours longer than the English could. But off course also the Danish players were tired. After a week of really making friendships they already had to leave. Some said “its so soon already” and that is true, it is seven days, ±168 hours, but still too short. All the players hugged and then they hugged again and than it was time to leave. Lots of happy faces but still you could see a little sadness. But now some of the players have something to look forward too the youthgames 2007 in Aalborg.
And the German people were the last of the badminton players to leave Almere.
Finally the week ended, finally we could get some rest. Nahhh it’s a sad thing that the week already ended. Everybody wanted it to be a bit longer someone even said “thank you for the best vacation ever” (thanks Morten). Also one boy said “What could I do now so I don’t get bored”. Well you could look at the pictures and read the reports so you can think of how wonderful the week has been. And think of how the youthgames are going to be next year in Aalborg. I have heard that it is always a huge happening there.
Well this is the last report I’ll write this year for the Youth games 2006 Almere. I hope you enjoyed (or still enjoy)to read my little reports and that my English was (is)understandable. Take a look at the pictures and remember how cool this week was. Not just the players had a good time also the coaches and the other organization people had a fascinating time. And lets not forget the man behind this website, thanks Krijn for making and getting the pictures on the site.
I hope to be there next year at the Youth games 2007 Aalborg and of course then I’ll bring out reports and pictures too!
Thanks,
Dorien
